SquareKnot Trading Co. was born in the mountains - from the Rockies & Appalachian, all the way to the Alps, and even Afghanistan - we've been around the block, climbing, hunting, & patrolling in the world's toughest environments.
SKTC started as banter between two US Army infantry machine gun team members (pictured below) after we were forced to create kit solutions for our MG that didn't exist, or wasn't being issued, like many generations of soldiers before us.
These experiences combined with decades of hunting, climbing, hiking, and shooting, provided us with an intimate understanding of the frustration of inadequate gear that doesn't do what you need it to, doesn't work as advertised, or worst of all, fails when you need it most. We strive to provide only equipment you can rely on to go wherever adventure takes you, because we only sell gear we trust.
Our Mission
Our goal is to provide tailored kit soltions to shooters, explorers, and adventurers by providing the best possible gear, at reasonable prices, and only if we trust it first. Additionally, we're leveraging our experience to bring you exclusive product offerings that get you started on the right track.
If a piece of kit doesn't meet our expectations, you won't see it on SKTC. This means sometimes our offerings will be thin, or more expensive than other options, we're willing to accept that in order to provide only the best.

The SquareKnot
Our logo is a reimagined square knot, one of the most basic knots in rope tying, probably the first one most mountaineers, climbers, firefighters, etc learn, and also one of the most sturdy and commonly used. This square knot is an analogy for our mission: to provide you with proven gear that gets the job done - sometimes that means its more expensive, sometimes it doesn't - but it always means we'll get you what you need to get the job done.
